Any other TVP FAC holders had this issues?

Good evening all!

So, i got my FAC back today with a requested variation...

However my brand new ticket is black and white (both my photo and the TVP shield). Is this normal? (probably cost-cutting by not using coloured ink, no doubt!)

My recently renewed certificate photos were in full colour - not really to my advantage sadly.

Mine renewed 6 months ago, coterminous. Photos in colour but bit washed out looking. TVP shield looks black but upon inspection the wavy vertical line is actually blue.

Northumbria have done black and white for years, apparently it saves so much money in ink they can afford an extra member of staff, not sure how true that is

They've been emailed, but as i'm impatient and would like to get a consensus from other thames valley FAC holders as i couldn't get an answer on saturday when mine turned up...

Then if you are impatient why not call them? Lines are open 8am to 10am weekdays and I have always found them extremely helpful on the phone. The department is well run and the staff are committed to giving a high level of service in my opinion and practical experience.

Same, i've never had any issues with them at all, and my FEO is absolutely sound.

You are likely talking 3p colour A4 Vs 0.3p mono A4.

In the BASC league table they had 30k certs total (FAC & Shotgun).

Let's say they all wanted their certificates printing in one financial year, and only the front cover needs be colour, it's £900 odd to print everyone's front cover in colour. .

Their wages must be low.

Just to clarify, i've had multiple variations over the last 2 years and every time they've been full colour, even had a snag buying ammunition once as Thames Valley Police had changed their crest on the FAC and the RFD though i was using a fake cert! But it was just this latest one came back black and white. I got an email response from TVP saying that it being in black and white "should" be fine ....

I moved into tvp area last may, they said they would print me a new ticket out with my new address , still waiting .

Phone the office.

I had a text to say my variation was being printed two weeks ago. When I phoned today to see where it was, I found out it was printed last Friday. Staff in the office are lovely to deal with, as are the FEOs, but always seem to have to chase up on printing/posting side of things. Happened last few times.

Will see when it arrives whether it's in colour or not

Finally got through to the firearms dept , only open 8-10 in the morning, a women answered the phone , she said she works from home , after a longish chat
she says yep I can see its up for printing, do you need it strait away, I said well its been 3 months waiting to be printed so yes pls, she replies
ill give them a nudge tomorrow if its important, , so lets see how long it takes to get it back, not holding my breath.

I mean, i can't complain at all with their turn around, their comms are maybe a bit lacking, but generally they don't take that long! i'm counting myself lucky!

Latest update, I phoned on the Fri morning, and was told ill give them a nudge on Monday, get an email on Tue we posted your certificate on Fri ,
really that's the day I phoned I thought ? the email says you should have it in a few days , now 9 days later nowt , maybe there getting printed in China to save money

When/ifnit finally turns up, keep the envelipe for the postmark date and raise merry hell if it turns out that it wasn't actually posted when they said it was.
