Only during this week's fiasco stalking fallow I got caught with my pants down!!
I saw the shadows of the nobber moving towards me first and managed to not only pull my draws up but reach the rifle and stand up, cock the hammer and with paper still in left hand take aim just in time for my young buck to stop and stare! At 30 plus yards I shot it in the head. I shot it with my trousers around my ankles.....
I just long for a straight forward stalk one day I really really do!

I’ve been in a similar situation, whilst taking a pee with rifle over right shoulder & sticks against left shoulder I was interrupted by a fallow doe. Not one to miss an opportunity, mid flow, I got the sticks up, rifle on the sticks, shot the doe, rifle back on shoulder, shook the drips off, zipped up & job done

Now I ain't particularly picky but when it comes to calling bullets heads and lever actions or lever guns under levers I must speak out!
The lever action is in 3030, one of the most versatile and efficient deer calibre's one can still get. 130years old it is as well .
