Kahles Rangefinding Binoculars Repair

I recently sent a pair of Kahles 8x42 range finding binoculars for repair as the rangefinder wasn't working properly. I now have had a reply from the service team to the effect that my binos are beyond economical repair (but they don't state what the fault is nor the cost of repairing it despite a request from me). However they are offering me a 'fully refurbished' pair with the latest tecnology for £385apx. I asked them where the refurbished binos come from but got a woolly reply. The cynic in me says that this is a bit of a con and that eventually my binoculars will become the next refurbished ones. Anyone had this offer? Or has anyone got any thoughts on the matter? That surprises me. Swarovski usually first class. I assume sent them to the centre at Redhill

Hi,
Has anyone sent a Kharles scope back to the manufacturer for repair via one of the local stockists? Just curious of peoples experiences of time scales, level of service & what sort of costs were experienced. Got a scope that doesn’t seem to keep zero.

I was in a similar situation with a Zeiss LRF after a fault developed draining the battery. Their response was it wasn't economical to repair but they'd sell me a new one at trade price.

When you pay a premium price you expect a premium service and product. Vortex for me from now on.

I hope you get a good resolution from them.

I sent my Kahles LRF binos of for repair last year. They went to Swarovski UK and they were back in a couple of weeks, like new and no charge.
I am shocked you are having those problems.
