I was beaten to it by @alexjoneill - that's a great wee knife for the small species but there have been a lot of good alternatives both of knives & techniques right through this thread
There's clearly more than one way to tunnel a muntjac
I prefer doing it like @grimstone suggested - it's cleaner & handier to do it at home if you can, you get all the nasties out with as little contamination as possible and you don't carry split hindquarters all the way home either
As for knives, the Danum Blade Muntjac Catcher has already been mentioned, I think by @Overlay , I use one of those now and they're great, maybe a bit small for Reds but handy for everything else.

This Ultralight 110BT arrived from Stuart on Saturday… chosen as I felt it was the ideal profile for tunneling the smaller species (and the bigger ones) and looking forward to using it.
I have been working on a few ULs for a while now but didn't want to start this thread until the workshop decks were a little clearer, a man can only answer so many messages.
All the blanks now heat treated (Rc60/61) and grinding has started, the project well under way.
Sheaths are well on their way too which is a huge bonus of these, the sheaths can be pre ordered.
I have blanks of all current models, 90, 110BT, 120, 140F and 150 (more on that below).
First a word on the next model to be introduced, the 90G, a Grallocher model.

They do. I've been sharpening on a Smiths system which is similar to the Lansky. I've just bought a Peter Eaton strop to try and take it up a notch but I am still getting the hang of it.
Peter makes some very pretty looking knives, but I am going to stick with what I've got. If I lose it I won't cry.

Its for me the perfect knife and it's great at holding a edge. I must of done 30 plus deer with it lately and it still cuts perfectly well.
On muntjac I do the same as above one cut between the tail and anus then use the finger to go around and free it all up the cut the last bit.
