My first Muntjac buck and what a beauty!

Thanks all, getting my first muntjac buck was a long time coming and a memorable experience, great to be able to share it with others who understand. :-)

Dear friends, I apologize, with all due respect, but I don't understand something. Please explain.
Please explain to me the meaning of goat hunting. Why do you enjoy this?
I have hunted goats, pigs, foxes, badgers, rabbits... After years, the worst hunt is deer. They are naive, gullible, they count on speed, which is why they die.
I agree, the risk is minimal, no danger. Ideal hunt for office boys. If the hunt is ordered by the office, the tourist company will tell you to the target. After that, photos, comments and applause follow.
And after that you are great HUNTERS?
Buy a ticket to Africa, get a license, a rifle in your hand and independently hunt a lion, leopard, even a wolf. After you succeed, post it and we'll see. Without the help of guides, moderators. Without anyone. Just you and the animals. Without money, without support. If you hunted a lion, you're bravo! Not the tourist company, you alone!
Goats... it's official nonsense.
Appreciate you are entitled to your opinion ..but perhaps it may be worth expressing it in a way that is less condescending.

If you think its official nonsense ...and there isnt a goat in sight...maybe keep your opinion to yourself and dont post?

Interested if you are UK based and have ever been deer stalking? Just struggling to see where anyone has claimed to be a great "hunter"?

So many angles of discussion to consider... :) but a few points ...
-I paid no one and was guided by no one, I am managing a piece of farm land
-I am not gloating but rather sharing with friends who share the same passions and values and can appreciate an impressive deer
-I have never been described as an office boy, although to be called a boy again would feel like a compliment
-This photo was the result of around 16-18 hrs of time in the field over a number of days, which was on my own enjoying nature, the final few seconds was not the only goal ('counter-strike computer game' does not compare with that)

Possibly had my first debate with AI but hey this post was all about firsts! ;)
Apart from "AI Goat" we are all with you 👍

Munties are great little deer so well done...again....

If you shoot a goat...dont post any pictures...and certainly dont shoot any badgers :lol:

Maybe there were some translation issues?
I see that the poster is Romanian.

🤣 yes walking it down the hill was a breeze, not looking forward to transporting my first fallow buck!
They’re easy - sit astride & hold the antlers like handlebars to steer him as you fly down the slope at great speed 😝

On a serious note, if you do need to get a fallow buck, or even a roe or bigger, down a slope do not get below it as it will have you over & possibly do you some damage if gravity gets the better of it & you can’t control it!

Super buck, I stalked a similar model last summer and couldn't get the shot - still think what could I have done differently!
