A unique skull preparation

May is a great month to be out if you can put up with the alarm clock so early.

I've been busy through May, on the roe bucks and I've had lots of skull cleaning to do. I'll put a post of a few of the bucks soon (I don't post on here as often as I should)

But I wanted to show this Roe buck that was shot in the face (not by me) and I had to prepare it for mounting.

Now given that deer calibres are hard hitting. It was no suprise to find whilst skinning and boiling it, it was falling apart.

The part pictured was all that remained. As a momentum of the situation, I was asked to do a custom piece that had the story incorporated.

I think all tings considered, it is exactly that. A unique mount that shows the story.

If anyone needs skull prep in the Oxfordshire or Buckinghamshire area, then just drop me a PM

Dang... that's a very unfortunate one to head shoot? what was the context behind the shot tall grass? If the density is good, that was a gold medal all day.

Yeah, the main thing is he shot it on his own and not under my command!
Oops....I had a similar chat about a CWD. European client and a gold medal buck...shot away and apparently when the guide and client went to inspect it most of its head was missing...an expensive mistake :)
