impact marks inside Stalon mod

Hi,I wanted to ask some advice about 2 impact marks inside my new Stalon mod.
I bought a new tx3 and new Stalon MOD in 308 from a good local dealer,about i hour away approx 6 months ago.
only used sako 162 gn copper factoryblade in it,approx 100 rnds so far.Been very good on deer but noticed a couple impact marks on the internal threads when taking it apart to clean.
Is it worth checking anything as seems to shoot ok?

How odd! 162 gns copper bullets must be very long indeed - might they be tumbling - do you know your .308’s twist? What are the holes like in a paper target? When you say internal threads what do you mean?
Any pics available of marks and target holes plz?

Is the mod on securely, friend of mine had a stalon that would unscrew with use, do you know when the clipping happened, was there anything different in the way you shot that day? lots of shots, dirty barrel, clean barrel etc etc

How odd! 162 gns copper bullets must be very long indeed - might they be tumbling - do you know your .308’s twist? What are the holes like in a paper target? When you say internal threads what do you mean?

Indeed but curious to know the cause of the marks and as I don’t use copper I am also curious to see just how long these bullets are…

I had a mod with a misaligned thread pitch.

But that was throwing bullets like a shotgun pattern.

Have you had any fliers?

Easy enough to check alignment. Take the bolt out of your rifle, stand it but pad first on a piece of white card or paper with the mod screwed on as normal and look down the muzzle. With the 308 it's pretty easy to see if it's aligned or not.

Shot 100s of the .308 162 grain Blades, never had a single problem, all through a Stalon mod, which I've never stripped and cleaned...

My son took some pics of it last night and looks like a partial strike on the back baffles, always check its tight and seems to shoot good, not many rounds through it yet.Was hoping to keep it a copper only rifle and use approx 130 grain copper but shop i bought it from only sell 162 blade ,so tried then and they work on red to roe good. Prob need to take it back to shop to show them and get advice as is all under warranty? Will try to post pics today

I was in livens guns a couple of weeks ago and was told one the muzzle mounted models has been recalled. They didn’t provide details why this was the case. However, that looks more like gas cutting than a strike. As such weak anodising and a manufacturing issue.

Pic attached of copper fouling of a mod I had with a misaligned thread pitch. Bullets were just skimming the mod, and producing 12" plus groups...

There was some in the baffle stacks as well which looked similar. Yours looks very different, coupled with what looks like corrosion.

If the bullets were striking the mod to such an extent I'd assume accuracy would be non existent and would be throwing bullets every which way.

On your first picture it looks like there's a piece broken of ? could this have caused the baffles to be slightly loose and not aligned correctly .

I think that looks like unburnt powder that's stuck to the mod and burnt a hole in it. I had this in a new mod, I now reload with a faster powder. It can be a problem with shorter barrels.

Well Ive only used sako blade factory ammo,prob around 100 rounds, shop fitted new mod with correct barrel spacer and on new TX3 I BOUGHT FROM THEM AT SAME TIME always check its tight.??

When I used sako ammo for about 40 rounds in my 20inch barrel it burnt my mod. A change of ammo might stop it cutting any more. Or carry on as you are and buy a new mod every 1000 rounds.
