We should have it not so much the ugliest, but the oldest, narliest old buck or stag. If it could talk, the one with the best stories. Since they can’t then the one with the best story of the hunt that lead to its demise is what also counts - and if you use a vintage rifle with open sights at a range of single digit yards, even better.

Very much in the same vein as Rigby’s Dagga Boy Trophy, but without the cost nor the prize.

Not really. Almost all my deer trophies are based on cull decisions, for good and well rounded reasons too, but the ‘odd’ ones, because they stand out, give more recognisable memories because they don’t blend in with others that look very similar.
In fact, I’ve just about only kept the ones that stand out, the rest sold on.

Yes, I'm not at all trying to blame anyone but the most obvious one is the perruque head. There is the problem of figuring out why it happened. And there are a number of different things which is why it makes me, in general, unhappy.
