Not big enough for Damsons and Damsons don’t have prickly leaves.Damsons I would say. Very much like sloes, but larger, more oval, and sweeter. Not yet though, they arnt ripe yet!

We’ve seen ripe blackberrys for 2 weeks now!More generally, it seems that many species of the mast are well advanced this year, doubtless aided by the very fine spring weather (though a bit too dry for all, in retrospect); we seem to be around 2-3 weeks earlier than usual in Grampian, the trees are laden with wild cherries already ripe or ripening.
Sorry to hijack.
