The benefits of vac packing

Sadly an old pal of mine passed to the hunting grounds up there and after probate and the house was eventually put up for sale his daughter asked if I could get rid of his freezer contents !
Well the old boy did good and it was all venison and trout the newest was 2 years old some was 2016 !
I feed 4 dogs on raw so I took the lot 4 Aldi bags full all VAC packed
No freezer burn and even the 8 year old stuff smells fresh as a daisy so if your in any doubt as to bagging or packing get a vac packer ive had one many years now I don’t mess about with ikea bags .
The dogs are loving it and my old mate would be well chuffed it didn’t get chucked !

You should try eating at the venison yourself. I have had joints that got lost in the chest freezer that were vacuum packed and 10 years old. All absolutely fine. Wouldn't do that with fatty meats, chicken and seafood but venison is so low fat it keeps incredibly well.
