Just wanted to show what ive been upto, last season i had a little brown shed to do most of my skinning hanging so this year i wanted more space and to be a little more comfortable and not have to wear a head torch and a coat 🥴. Its still got work to do i want to put some white plastice sheets on the back wall and ive also got a big peice of beech wood to cut down to use for chopping , also need to figure a way to hang in the pepsi fridge but all ready other wise 😌

I bet, properly setup, space to be comfortable and move around, what's not to love 😊

One thing I've found butchering in the garage, is that I'm doing on a wooden butchers block that sits on top of the freezer. It would be so nice to be able to get more upright by being able to get the feet under whatever surface I'm working on. That of course is why I see you have the space under the storage unit/counter 👌

It makes a helluva difference having a decent place to work.
I'd definitely recommend you find some way to install an electric hoist, if you can. I found that a real life changer! Wish I'd had one 30 years ago!
Yea i can imagine they are great but i have a hand pulley for now i think if i did big numbers ide be looking for somthing electronic

Yea i know what you mean i spent so many evenings last winter with a head torch and 2 jumpers under my coat in very small space this year should be so much more enjoyable i can actually do my burgers and sausages out their without my wife or kids calling my name or interupting me

in regards to the Pepsi fridge, I used the existing mounts on the walls and then fixed a frame to that (to spread the load), with tube where I wanted the deer to hang.
I calculated that the fridge held X amount of cans and their weight, so should be able to take 6 roe in weight! (2/3 fallow)
never had an issue although I have now altered it to have the round tubes from a landing system so I can use an electric winch....... arthritis in shoulders is a bugger!

I still have the side mounts for the shelfs i am going to find some steel and do as said make a frame to hang them and ye fallow i have and i literally struggle to lift them as it is so il have to rig up a hand pulley just above the fridge

Looks class, built it all yourself?
Do you work in the building trade?
Done with a friend and my old man whos retierd and used to be in the carpentry trade so very handy i can do most stuff i used to work with timber doing deckings ect. So really only cost me price of the timber and door and a few cups of tea 😅

That’s really nice. I stapled a roll of cheapest vinyl flooring from the local carpet place over my OSB so it’s easy to wipe down

Looks good, we built a toilet block on a farm using OSB, varnished it out looked really smart when done.
