Has anybody seen a price list from Highland Game for the 25/26 Season?

Normally they send it out in June - If you have one, please can you share it.

The price in Ireland has gone up a little, €1.70 for heart and lung shot, €2 for head and neck shot. These are exported to Rigby Game in England.
Sorry, not the reply you want, but I wonder is your prices going up too?

Rigbys have emailed saying £1.80 for collected fallow for here in South East...with 20p more per kilo delivered in ....£2.00 for red...reductions for fat and damage quite reasonable..

Current suggestions are to leave in situ unzipped for wildlife, as an option. I prefer to keep the meat. But if shooting large numbers, it’s no fun

What other options have you when shooting deer in numbers?

- I’m removing backstraps and haunches and leaving them unzipped. For reds and Sika.
- I’ve increased chiller and freezer capacity, I’d rather give it to friends and feed the dogs than take sh!t money for them.

Oh yes and if you’re a British Quality Wild Venison approved producer you get double for it

Lots more hurdles to jump and more costs for sweet FA

I just received this text from my local game dealer.

Attention stalkers! New season info

Head/neck shot £2.20
Body damage 20% deduction
Haunch damage 40% deduction
Saddle damage 50% deduction

Under 19kg 80p

Fat deductions from 50kg until further notice

No muntjacs

In the log book please clearly write the name/initial & surname of person to be paid rather than who shot the deer (where relevant) plus the actual stalker number.

What other options have you when shooting deer in numbers?

Register as a food business. Process loins and haunches, mince the rest. Granted I am only processing circa 150 deer a year (Mainly Fallow) but this is being done at weekends and evenings as I have a full time job during the week.

If I have more than I can deal with then I can use a Game Dealer. I would rather get £2 - £2.25 a kilo than leave it to rot. It will at least cover my costs with a very small amount on top.
