Making a sled

I use a slee sled. But you aren't dragging it without the bike. But it's the only one I've seen yet that you really can hammer the crap out of it. Just a great tool That will survive as many reds or fallow as you can strap in it.
Downside. It's heavy empty and you need to cover the animals if it's wet.

Was about to suggest the Slee sled but the above post summarises the downfalls. I have a pair of @Stirlinggundogs excellent Jet Sleds, both of which I have reinforced at the front end so I can use my capstan winch or tow behind the quad/car. Moose ATV parts made the tow parts on the bigger sledge (bought from Quad Bike Wales). First 3 are of the larger sledge, the last 2 the Junior. A wheeled trailer is available for the larger sledge.

I like the idea but anything just made from moulded plastic is only using the molecules to keep itself together. I have a large tray here that was made with gelcoat on both sides then grp inside it is smooth both inside and outside, I have had it for years but no idea who made it bought in Germany. it get used as a large drip tray but with rails added it would work well IMO.

Big reds off rough upland ground. Jetsled plus homemade trailer. Quad wheels are on stub axles and slide out of the frame for flat-pack transport. Jetsled just slides on and off from the rear if I need to drag anything to the trailer. Ratchet strap holds everything in place once loaded.

You’ll want the wear runners for Jetsled and the cover as the quad flicks up loads of muck onto the carcass if not covered.

That spiker is 109kg larder weight to give an idea of scale.

I think wheelbarrow tubs are too short and deep for reds - you need long and narrow. Also I don’t think they have much rigidity for dragging. Ours wouldn’t anyway…

I’ve made a few as I’m a tight git, old wheelie bin makes a fair one cut it lengthways then a couple of slots at one end bend it up and pop rivet two short lengths of aluminium angle I’ve found that the resistance on the ground is to much,

There is a video which for the life of me I can't recall, NT ranger (lakes possibly) who has converted a fish crate with what looks like blue barrel to smooth the edges and uses it to drag stone, always thought it would make a good deer sled and cheap to make and repair

That looks like the roll-up plastic deer sled I have just bolted onto the crate. clever.

Interesting........ Looks remarkably like the JS1Trailer(R) that we designed and sell specifically for the JS1.......

I like that that's a smart set up. A homemade frame like that is a good idea for moving it where you can and won't wear out the bottom of the sled i guess

Available from @Stirlinggundogs to fit the Jet sleds. They come with sealing stainless steel nuts and bolts. Work perfectly

ive used one of these tubs for the past 3/4 years
To be honest never dragged it behind a quad
But pulled a few deer around in it
Still going string

Using a large plasterers bath with a moulded kids sledge bolted to underside, a 2” wide strop to comfortably pull it with.
