What’s the view in magtech primers, specifically large rifle? I’m about to try my first ever reloads, .308 and all I seem to be able
To source are magtech….. goggle throws up mixed reviews… any recent real world views appreciated.

I think there was a batch of small rifle primers that had some issues in the past? I've heard nothing but good about the LR ones though. Reassuring as I have a box of 1000 that I've not started yet. Be interested to hear of others' experiences too 👍

I managed to obtain 1000 Magtech large rifle primers, and 1000 small rifle primers, and considered myself lucky, when primers were in short supply. I have since used several hundred of each. I have not had any misfires. I have noticed no difference in their performance in the field. I would willingly buy them again.

Magtech SR are £73 up our way.
Other makes go up to £113!
Ken.

Out of around 500 reloads I've had one that didn't go off at all due to a missing anvil and 3 or 4 that I've had to fire twice

About all thats available round here, used the LP without issue, interestingly I tried some henry krank LR, fine in PPU cases but I wreaked two hornady cases just trying to seat them

I've had 10 or 12 misfires out of the last batch, mostly when zeroing but a few out stalking.... so I've pulled the rounds apart and will not be using magtech again!

It may be the case that I've happened onto a bad batch, but who knows!

Out of a couple thousand CCI large rifle i didn't have a misfire!

Luckily the last time it happened out stalking the target buck was very obliging as roe often are 😅

used the small rifle primers in my AR15 for CSR ... used a couple of thousand over last year or two and had no issues at all... also use Magtech primers in my 38 as well, no problems ....would choose to buy them now

When you say last batch, how many are we talking out off?

Given how many miss fires you have had, is it possible there is other contributing factors in play, such as light firing pin strikes caused by a build up of carbon around the firing pin inside the bolt? How far is the firing pin sticking out the bolt?

I done about 1000 so far and they have gone bang every time with no issues or missing fires. Fired in all weather conditions, sub zero to mid 30 the other day and fine.

Solid firing pin strikes

Bolt is clean and well maintained.

Changed primers and every single one has gone bang since!

I don't believe in coincidences... so in my mind Magtech are now junk 😂 may of simply been a bad batch & it was the first tray of 100 out of a box of 1000 purchased...

I even, with correct PPE adorned, popped a couple of pulled primers on my anvil and gave them an encouraging tap with my 2 1/2 lb turning hammer and they still refuces to go bang!

900 cheap primers for sale, work 60% of the time, everytime! 👀👀

Have you ever seen a review by Chris Parkin where he puts the boot in 🤔
I've pals who use Magtech primers for target/long range, no issues.
