Online ammo retailers that deliver

Sooooo just wondering if there are any good online ammo retailers that deliver, basically I'm a cheap f*** and just got my boy a gsg522 (mp5 clone) and I just wanted to buy a bulk load of the cheapest 22lr I can get (will obviously test a box first) there is a company that sells some ammo for 4p a round but I have to buy 5000 and well got a fat chance of asking my FAO to increase my storage limit hahaha

How many can you buy? Surely postage would increase the overall cost to the point where it is cheaper just to go to your nearest RFD and stock up on whatever they have cheap.

Haha think was 40g mag tech, I'm expecting it to be cheap properly **** ammo but it's Gona be fired pretty rapidly from a mp5 clone so dosent have to be the most accurate ammo (obviously I'd have to check any ammo I get ) it's just a way the boys can have a bit fun rapid plinking with out it costing me an arm and a leg we went through 200 rounds testing it out

two things to remember 1. Your local RFD will need and your custom and one day you will need his 2. the cheapest 22lr ammo will frustrate you and will not show improvement enough for you to recognise your doing better . Best move is buy one box of everything then check them out on paper , then buy the ones that you find shoots the best . If you start shooting junk you end up missing more- this means you spend as much or more Ammo. There are ways to improve a rifles performance - but you sure won't improve the cartridges you purchase! Using a poor rifle and poor ammo is false economy. Out of the two though i would swing to better ammo than a better rifle . We run cheaper second hand CZ 452 here generally but run them on the very best (checking the rifles like them then like i mention on ammo buy (as many as you can manage )

Through the most part I would agree with what your saying in a general shooting term m8 I have always chose to support local shops but in this instance my pots aren't trying to pop a rabbit at 75 yards there shooting 25-50 yards at a 200mm steal plates, we're not overly looking at accuracy more about chucking rounds down range for a bit of fun and some "tactical" / safety training (I used the quoted tactical term cos both boys are cadets and want to put what they lean on actions mixed up with some warped calls of duty **** lol)

When the boys are target practicing for hunting there having to consistently put rounds to a £2 grouping ( I use a £2 coin cos when first taking them out that's all I had on me and said that your average size for a rabbit headshot)
At that point there using the cz 455 17hmr or sometime the 17 hornet

All I'm looking for is a 22lr round that's as cheap as possible and if the firing pin hits it,,,,,,, it goes boom and some lead fly's out of then I can't say I have ever used any ammunition that's not capable of being with a 200mm grouping at 25-50 yards

Technically there's no such thing as online ammo retailers as its not allowed by law. The nearest thing that comes close to it that I've heard of is Pellpax who deliver to your door and that's where the entry is made on your FAC. Prior to that you send them a copy of your FAC. There could well be other companies that operate in a similar way but none that I am aware of.
Looking at their prices Pellpax certainly aren't a budget supplier.

What's your maximum ammo holding?
Can you hold 1000, most target shooters can. If you can why not buy 5,000 of the cheap crap fodder you mention through your local RFD and ask him to hold the rest until as and when required.

I have to state that I'm with Bowland Blades, I have no time for poor ammo no matter how cheap it is.

Frankly I didn't know of anyone who would deliver ammo (except for shotgun ammo, the likes of Just Cartridges). I hadn't heard of Pellpax. You live and learn. I would too advocate your local RFD. And I suspect that if you needed something your RFD doesn't carry or a quantity over his usual stock, then they would I'm sure order it in for you.

I hadn't heard of this either until ndt man on here described how he had purchased from them .22 shorts that he had been seeking everywhere.

I did wonder about the legality of it at the time because it used to be that RFD's could only sell from their registered premise and had to apply for a temporary variation/permit (not sure of the correct technical term) if they wished to sell at a game fair or show.
A local part time RFD used to sell out of the boot of his car when clubs were using the local army range until one day the FEO turned up at the range and put a stop to that.

Cheap ammo in a semi auto often means constant stoppages. Frustrating and not much fun when you have lots of it.

I tried a cheap case of 500 Remington once, some we’re going subsonic and some cracked as they went supersonic. most of it wouldn’t cycle the action and I gave it to a mate with a bolt action to use up. tried some cheap magtec and had endless stoppages, the bench was covered in unburnt powder.

I now buy ammo that I know works.

Buying a big batch of cheap ammo might leave you with a load of junk to get rid of unless you have tried it and know it to be good in your rifle.

On what grounds is the FEO authorised to do that?
Ken.

probably not worth the bother buying 5000 cheap rounds of 22 with a GSG mp 5 clone unless the have upgraded the build of the rifle ?
Most of my mates in the gun club ditched them after getting sick of reliability issues after a couple of 1000 rounds through them !!

So they suffered from light pin stokes cos get.in the ultimate wisdom put in what they called a second safety was ball that when the trigger was pressed a small bit of metal pushes a sprung ball out the way of the firing pin , the ball didn't always move in enough causing a light primer stick fox for that is just taken the ball out, also a feed issue with the mags but that's easily sorted as well

Probably worth mentioning that unless you are all members of a target club and using a club range then it’s illegal for under 18’s to use a FAC rifle. Other exceptions are if they have their own FAC or Cadets are allowed to use rifles as part of their training.

Just corrected that a bit for you 👍

Ken.
Because they are legally authorised to inspect both the club and the RFD to ensure compliance with regulations for H.O. approved clubs, and compliance with RFD registrations.
I don't know how often RFDs are checked but I do know that H.O. approved clubs are checked annually sometimes only for a simple record check.
