There's no 'probably' about it. You are wasting your time and that of the police by notifying them of something you do not have to and which they are not interested in.
What a pointless exercise. On par with informing the police every time you carry out any other legal activity.

as above, this shooting lark is hard enough already, why make it harder, when you buy some ammunition from a shop, its entered on you ticket, therefore you have informed the police of purchace simple
