Fog on the Tyne - must have been really, like really, thick…

Yep, there will be a few folk in Sunderland having a snigger about this.....but at the end of the day the diagram is just a schematic (with The Toon, Gateshead and South Shields on it), I'm sure all the runners nursing blisters, chafing and general aches and pains will still be chuffed to bits with surviving the ordeal.
Maybe next year put the Thames on and see if anyone notices!

I’m missing something
You obviously didn't follow the link....................

The aerial view on the medals incorrectly used an outline of Sunderland and the River Wear
Great North Run organisers have apologised after medals given to participants in this year's event featured the wrong city and river. 🤭
In this crazy world, they'll probably become highly sought out collector's "pieces"

Newsflash - straight off the teleprinter…
Wrong Medal Update…
Following the mildly disappointing use of the wrong location on The Great North Run medals the manufacturers have also admitted a minor error with the 2026 London Marathon medal which unfortunately shows a picture of Mogadishu.
Rather than scrap these medals and in the spirit of his Government’s Green Energy and recycling policies, the Prime Minister has declared that effective immediately, one will be awarded to any migrant successfully crossing the French Channel. In announcing this he declared that he hoped to see medals being awarded for the many diverse means of crossing the French Channel and sought public input to how these would be categorised. As with entry to GB, Medals will be open to all and can be competed for on a re-entry basis, an important strand to entry is no bar on colour, creed, age or sex (as long as your sex falls within the recent legal definition).
It is understood that an order has already been placed for a further 2,000,000 medals - to see us through until the next election….
