6.5x55 On M96 Swedish Mauser ( carbine'd)

The rifle is just a bog bog-standard service rifle, born in 1912. I have the K31 as well.

Does anyone use the Privi heads 139gr, with Vit N150 powder? That's what I have available. I've seen some loads use N150/160. Im new to this baby and haven't started reloading it yet, don't want to start hammering them out either till I get another consensus. I want to get used to it at the range. I also have a few boxes of heads which came with the rifle, but will stick to Privi until I get her sussed.

that’s a small ring Mauser, so be gentle on the pressure load wise. Therefore don’t necessarily come in near top loads for what the powder manufacturers say

Thank you. Dont know why but K31 has Privi heads in the reloading manual. No Privi for M96. Obviously, ill go for the smaller numbers, but using N150 for 139gr there is 4gr difference in powder.

If you’re Privi bullets/projectiles are sized 264 and are 139gr you should be good to go with the information supplied by vihtavuori.

Given the choice and availability l would have gone for N160 and the Lapua Scenar 139gr bullet, but I’m still using Reloader 22.
