Looking at my notes, I caught this fish twice, once at 44.4oz and again at 44lb.8oz in early January 2020. The first capture was December 2019. I also caught a different fish bang on 40lbs, and loads of upper twenties and a few 30s up to 39lbs. When I caught that big girl the 2nd time, I decided to pull off and leave them alone.Pike 44lb is a dream fish. When/ where was it caught? Does it appear on the top 50 list?

That was exactly the experience! A great fish I’d like to catch more one daya Queenie, they will spin your reel quicker than an electric drill
What a great shame, the rivers get everything bad chucked at them, and they still manage to breathe.. just.30+ years ago one day I have two dace at 1lb 2oz each. The BR then was 1lb 4 oz.
Whole brook fish population was later wiped out by a huge spill of pig slurry.
I was heart broken to see all the brooks wildlife to be destroyed overnight.
Severn trent restocked but with fish never previously present.

We should meet up on the Madison for a float trip ............ I'll get Muir to buy the beer . Epic .

That's an incredible haul of Rudd, sir. It looks to be some time ago, judging from the photos. Not the biggest fish I caught, but three over three is a very memorable day, & the other one was 2:14
Ye ha... they are awesome sir. Another couple if species added to the album...Few fresh water pics - sea ones are on an old laptop that’s died.

That is a very nice old warrior, I'd rather catch one like that than the entire contents of a place like Grenvilles.Proper oldie this on 30+ year old original
That’s from my syndicate in the colne valley, the mecca of carp fishing, I drive 125 miles the fish thereThat is a very nice old warrior, I'd rather catch one like that than the entire contents of a place like Grenvilles.
The trouble with carp fishing is that it has become too popular. To many bank rats, everyone is following the same well trodden paths. That’s from my syndicate in the colne valley, the mecca of carp fishing, I drive 125 miles the fish there
I don’t chase the big one on that water, it’s not old enough! The trouble with carp fishing is that it has become too popular. To many bank rats, everyone is following the same well trodden paths.
I know people who are going onto waters knowing where "The big One" has been caught from with every capture for the last decade, how many wraps it is to "The Spot", what bait and what time of year... I don't call that fishing anymore.
