Thermal Printer Recommendations Please

Hey Everyone,

Appreciate this has been done before but I am not the sharpest tool in the box.

It is for home use and gifting friends etc as I do not sell the meat.
My better half diced up fresh backstraps yesterday for a stew and left the older diced meat in the bottom of the freezer . so think I need to get labelling. Printer cheaper than a divorce!

I see a lot of members on here are using the Brother QL models, is the labels being freezer grade the important part or do the standard labels work ok in the freezer?

Not one for patience so ease of use is essential, preferably wireless with a handy app etc , buy once cry once and all that.

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

Niimbot B3S is fantastic. I've used mine for the last 2 years and printed thousands of labels. I mostly use the 70 x 40mm labels, but have also used 2" round & 40 x 20mm. Works via phone app. Only needs to be charged about once a year.

I just use the standard ones. I thought maybe plastic film ones could be better, but I've not managed to find any. I just make sure any condensation is wiped dry before applying them 👍

Cheers, Have you any pictures of your labels ?

On the likes of the QL800, I am assuming it works like a standard printer hardwired into a PC or laptop? you just work off the program installed on your machine etc?

Has anyone found availability issues for the labels themselves ?
Quick look online, there seems to be only certain sizes available depending on the machine Brother, Niimbot etc

Thanks for all the replies so far much appreciated!

The Brother red/black/white rolls I use with my machine are continuous rolls so you can print as long a label as you want. In availability terms, I've found no issues and the competition means I can usually get a good price on the genuine ones too.

Labels pretty cheap and easy to get hold of from Hong Kong for me.
