Roe Deer SEX ID - Anal Tush

I was just looking through some old videos this morning and thought that the attached video might be useful (to newcomers) to show the roe does anal tush. Part-way through the clip, a male and female stand side-by-side, so the comparison can be clearly seen.

That's great as Roe sex ID has me confused a couple of times in my earlier days.

Even now sometimes they'll be obscured or at an angle and I won't be able to shoot as I can't be 100% sure.

Such a handy thing even for being small little deer 400-800 yards away on a nice winter mid morning if the sun is shining on them Its pretty easy too tell

Then summer comes around its nearly impossible, antler and body structure and behavior at that point!

Yep, couldn't see the tush when it wandered off but whilst it was standing there, the angle made ID impossible (to me) so I left it.

Using the rear to ID this one was handy today, although if you look closely you can just make out the little buttons.

A few years back i shot a roe doe, identified by the tush, but very "buckly" with quite large pedicules.
I suppose if it was the other way around and was looking for a buck to shoot without looking at its rear it could have ended up in the pot based on its head..
