The original one, Robin Hood looking fella. How good are they? 470 something gram fleece, anything better for cold windy dry (ha) nights? Want to buy something that'll last.

I cant complain with mine which i wear as part of a layering system.
The built in hood keeps me cosy on those cold sits.
The long length keeps your upper legs warm and its like having a blanket over them when sat.
I bought a large size as it then means i can layer up with plenty of layers underneath.
As part of the layering system i also have a ranger shirt underneath.
A top layer over the whole lot i wear a cheap dpm surplus army smock which assists in wind proofing which is one thing the bush shirt on its own lacks .
They were i thought quite a good buy in terms of value for money.

Oh that's disappointing to read, I was hoping it would be the outer layer & keep wind out.
Can't beat a DPM army smock as an outer layer, mate.
I've had mine for years, it's my go-to top layer. Just get the right size (they cater for all shapes & sizes) mines a 190/96, I'm 6'1" and medium build.

Swandri Hudson is a better bet Ben, bit more expensive at £150 but warm and you won’t want to throw it in the coup after scratching yourself raw

I got a ranger shirt 20 yrs ago, the one with a windbreaker inside, sleeve cuffs are now worn out but great for hunting

But fine if you are actively stalking as the natural ventilation stops you getting sweated up provided you have the correct breathable under layers.

Does the flap behind the neck opening work i.e. keep the wind out and warmth in? Always looks a bit sketchy in the pictures.
