And if you don’t comply with the conditions of that licence it’s the same as doing it without the license.Under licence.

Read post #162. Note the word MUST. Also note that it’s a condition or the license. But it is still only "guidance", not compulsion.
Only I didn't say that. I said you had to have access to a dog.

Are you perhaps confusing the Deer Initiative Ltd (DI Ltd) with the Deer Initiative Partnership (DIP)?I think you will find that when the DI was disbanded all its funds and the name was taken over by the BDS.
Thanks for this, I wasn't aware, I was kind of suspicious of what occurred, that clears it up, I thought they had been disbanded and gone. That explains a lot.Are you perhaps confusing the Deer Initiative Ltd (DI Ltd) with the Deer Initiative Partnership (DIP)?
DI Ltd was the executive arm of the DIP. DI Ltd ceased operations on 31st March 2020 whereas DIP continues to operate. You can find the list of the partners currently involved in DIP here:
The Deer Initiative | Partners: BASC

The exec team from DI Ltd actually went to the Forestry Commission, not the BDS, see here:
Forestry Commission’s New Deer Management Team - The British Deer Society
Whilst any outstanding funds were transferred from DI Ltd to the BDS, the name DI Ltd was removed.

that's not what it says (but probably the intent!). It just says you have to inform at least 24hrs in advance of shooting. There is no maximum notice period so my intention for next season is to inform the local police that "Night shooting in accordance with CL55 will take place on XXXX site between the period of 1st August and 30th April".seems jobsworthy to have to notify before every visit at least 24 hrs in advance.
I asked them about the notification period and never got a reply.I know that's not what it says but it amazes me that something that should surely have been checked over by someone with a legal grounding has such ambiguous wording.
That or/and compulsory training, advocated by basc of course! It’ll be coming for lamping rabbits and foxes soon chaps don’t you worry
The rules for night shooting would be like that if it hadn't been effectively grandfathered in. The cl55 rules are what some public sector types would come up with if no had thought of might shooting before. It’ll be coming for lamping rabbits and foxes soon chaps don’t you worry

Old fashioned... Can you imagine the e mails the police forces would get if this happened for fox and rabbit etc control to include more modern methods like NV and thermal lol....fingers crossed it never does come into force
