Swallow, Swift and Martin watch!

Four House Martins today, a family party l think, seemed to be passing through.

Every winter l get flies, Ladybirds, and lacewings hibernating in my workshop and as the temperature increases in the spring they appear around the windows, as and when they appear l leave the windows open so they can escape.
Over the last three winters there seems to be less and less flies hibernating, is this a sign that there will be a poor breeding season for our summer visitors ?

Absolutely loads of insect splats on my van this year. So many more than the past few years.
 
First house martins spotted up towards GlenShee at the weekend and the first small group of Swallows on one of the local farms here in Ayrshire. Definitely a week or two later than usual....
