UKDTR call out details and shot site information.

Good morning all,
Please take a look at our new website.
It is much more user friendly.
We are also looking for new members in areas we don't have members at this current time, take a look at our mentoring scheme.
Find your nearest tracker app is much faster and easier to use.
Hi, I’m interested in training my new lab pup for tracking and become a member of your scheme. I tried to contact via the website without any luck. I live in the south east

If this Government go a head with its plan to ban trail hunting it could harm our way we all train our tracking/stalking dogs!

They may stop us all from using animal scents (hoofs, skins, blood ) to lay practice trails we all use to train our dogs!

Lets hope they see some sense,

Yesterday UKDTR celebrate the achievement of Meik Reher & Loki after passing their UKDTR 20hr tracking test in Warwickshire ..🦌🐕
Well done indeed on a tough track 👌
Meik & Loki’s details will be on the website shortly..

Apologies for a bit of a thread hijack, but could someone please tell me what percentages of tracks done by the UKDTR what I would class as difficult i.e. blown jaws, leg shots?

I’m not on about the easy ones liver shot, high / low lung shot and ones that have just ran 30 or 40 yards and rolled over in a pile of brambles or even run 100 yards. I’m on about the tracks that are over 500 m anything up to 5 km.

That’s not me being awkward. That’s me now not having a dog anymore and having the ability to call upon somebody if I’m in a muddle, that can do the job properly.

Lee some are short and some a very long and doesn't matter to the guys at UKDTR, we just try and help and educate as to what to do when it does go wrong.
We all like a track that's over 500 meters in length as its very rewarding but who cares really as long as we help.

UKDTR members dont really care how long the track is as long as our dogs are getting work and we are helping stalkers when they call.

I guessing when you where part of UKSHA you never went out on a track unless ir was over 500 meters long!

And yes you have hijacked the thread when I was talking about animals parts used by ALL dog trainers being possible banned under the new hunting laws should they be introduced.

It was an honest question, no criticism but I want to know the dog and handler are up to the job, no point attending unless you 100% committed, you will know I’m not going to call unless it’s going to be a 100% a wounded animal and a worth while track with a chance of success
