as i understand it, this was created with A&S so that they could reduce the amount of land clearance work required and give more stalkers a completely open ticket after completing their approved course
If it saves A&S having to clear and guarantees an open condition I might be interested, however as above, I would want to confirm in writing with the FLD.
Could some kind soul unlock the toilet tissue please.

Interesting, what is it that A&S Police are approving?
The Rifleman Firearms course, the syllabus, training objectives and training standards, or their certificate?
What objectives are actually being certified against what A&S mandated, HO, HSE, NRA safety criteria and by who based upon what HO/Police recognised qualification?
Playing devils advocate, could this be the precursor to some form of national private firearm owner safety training qualification linked to licensing?

Pay to do the FEO's job, even after a massive hike in licence fees, what next, pay to do an approved HAD course, have public liability and vehicle business insurance so you can be called out at all times to dispatch deer for. Not much good will coming our direction

I'd pay for this if I knew I'd get an open Cert first time round, I'd consider that a bargain to not have to chase them constantly or be unable to use my own gun when visiting places - If the Met ever get back to me I'll ask if they would recognise it
(Also thinking of the worst case scenario and something bad happens being able to prove you undertook training is always going to be in your favour)

In theory you could ask A&S what the course syllabus is and what evidence is required to gain the certificate and then provide the evidence yourself to get an open certificate.

I'm curious if anyone has taken this course yet or if there is any more info since on what the course entails and it's actual usefulness with A&S.
A&S seem to have a habit of this kind of thing and, without any offence intended, I personally don't really trust them to do as they say or honour anything they have said.
Appreciate any feedback from anyone who's done it or done their own digging

I did the first course
It doesn't guarantee an Open ticket
but it did accelerate mine being granted
