My youngest would put me in my place, army biathlon ski ing silver medallist. (Against the Olympic team)
Supported shooting tells you how good your set up is .
Free standing tells you how good you are at shooting.
Garlands has a pay and play one hundred yard range that you can shoot prone or from a bench. I know it's not quite in your backyard but at least it doesn't require all the fuss and palaver of the Bisley Rifle Club.I wish I had a way of just going to try this that didn't require taking a day off work, booking two weeks in advance, redoing a test made up by the NRA and doing a supervised zeroing test because I'm not using lead. Because I'd love to just go and try this quickly for fun and edification.
I think th BDD was mentioned last time this MOA challenge was mentioned. The Black Dot of Doom has shown that very few people on here can put 3, let alone 5, shots into a 1 MOA target.
Most people wildly overestimate their accuracy…
Is that a BDS box or SPQ questionnaire return envelope behind the target?MOA pah can do better off sticks!
No just a target I lifted of the tinternet, I’ll be buggered if I’ll pay for one!Is that a BDS box or SPQ questionnaire return envelope behind the target?![]()
Cant be that bad they hit cows?Last year while with friends in USA we were driving to the/his hunting cabin in Pennsylvania passing fields with cattle... the cows had the word 'COW' painted on their sides.
I asked why this was done, the reply astonished me.... 'Because in hunting season there are folk out there who don't know what a deer looks like & they shoot at anything moving'.
Hard to believe - but true! Apparently that's how bad American shooters can be
What only the tails being shot off?Plenty of tails of cows being shot at night in the uk
In certain areas (especially those close to large urban areas) this is the case. But bear in mind how much larger the US is than the UK. So, though this does happen, it is the exception, not the rule.Last year while with friends in USA we were driving to the/his hunting cabin in Pennsylvania passing fields with cattle... the cows had the word 'COW' painted on their sides.

Agreed & Definitely not in my experience. I have shooting friends in the US & they're all good shots & hunters, clearly tho', the farmers whose fields we were driving past had serious concerns. In certain areas (especially those close to large urban areas) this is the case. So no, Americans (as a whole) are not that bad of shooters.
You won't find our cows painted like that (maybe a number on the flank) just paddle boats (come in No 9 your time is up) also we don't have Fish and Wildlife Rangers checking tags but the "ticket inspectors" could freelanceAgreed & Definitely not in my experience. Also, it wasn't just one field with cows, it was several. I thought it funny until I was told the reason.

Thank God we don't have public land which can be hunted as It would be lots of "Fenton's" the deer tracking dogs in Richmond Park

Thank God for the C/Service....Unfortunately the shooting public are largely prohibited from shooting on public land, civil servants reserve that activity for themselves and charge the public for doing so.
