Custom Rifle

Had this sako85 for the last 10years or more. One of the best for fox or roe. In Scotland. Before anyone says. Set trigger and 20" barrel. Bloody brilliant in 223. If you want some thing different. A 22ppc is on the cards. If I can find one.

I totally agree but when you have a set back in life as I have had ,treating yourself to something nice/different to the norm in my opinion is justified.
Not having a go at you, more trying to see both sides of the custom or not custom rifle, we all have spent money on things others see as a waste of money, me it’s fishing gear, good luck with your rifle what ever it is.

Get after it, I say.

Your money, your choice. The only person who's opinion matters in this case is the one held by the guy paying for it.

Perhaps we should call these rifles, off shelf parts built rifles, 😂. Customised to your requirements, I doubt if many will kill anymore than a off the shelf rifle, but one thing is sure it will be worth 50% less than you paid for it😁

Some people enjoy every aspect of quality, from bullet feed to ejection, stock ergonomics to trigger break etc. Etc

Ruger No1

Country Custom Gunsmithing

Is it a custom - Ruger action is hardly custom

Nice wood - copy turned

Some case hardening - outsourced

Grip cap - easy to do

Not really a custom though is it

Could have done much better if a little more attention had been paid to the choice of scope rings. Trust me!

I see what you mean. The 1/4 rib and the over long scope wouldn’t be my personal choice.
Purely by coincidence, a good mate is putting one in .270 together. I have no idea what the full build will look like.
