We saw another 3 too mate

Any ideas where they've come from bud? I know you run traps during the season, surprised that none have shown up before now.
At least you're getting to grips with them now.

I could do Mike - but the stoats shot this morning were with Steel No3 40 odd gram things and the mink i had was the same at about 4 yards in a tree
Not so much carcasses as smears !

Out first thing to see how the air rifle goes around the one farm yard. I have an old springer which isnt really up to the job at the ranges I need to shoot the crows at but wanted to see how I got on regardless. Had a couple of hours from 5 - 7 and definitely managed 3 carrions, 1 jackdaw, 2 magpies and 2 ferals. Think its time for an FAC air rifle....

...I'm not looking forward to paying for it To be fair I enjoyed lurking in the barns trying to get close enough for the shot his morning and lovely and peaceful as well. The issue is what air rifle to get. Its going to be a .22 but there is so much choice .... like the look of the FX range...would love an Impact Mk4 but not sure I can justify £2k.....

I think they have always been there but we have always blamed raptors and others for any deaths

We only ever really trapped for rats and squirrels before

Four squirrels tonight with the humble 22 short subsonic solids.

But the best was a fast offhand shot at one of two crows mobbing a red kite. No time to fuss just guess the hold over and squeeze.
Paced it off at 82. That'll do nicely.
