No signs of the Rut

Ive been busy over the last 2 weeks looking and stalking. My main activity is in the evening, but with the lack of any noticeable activity I went out this morn. I was on the field about 5.30. I seen 3 does and called in 3 different areas but no sign of any Bucks.. Im totally scractching my head now. 1 of the main areas Ive targeted has a known good buck in it, Ive seen the beast with my own eyes and its been left in peace since may. Other lads who stalk the ground are also confirming the lack of sightings. Last Sat I watched a buck follow a Doe only about a mile from our shoot.!! Has anybody else having similar things with their ground and the Bucks?

Nothing here yet.
bucks are chasing does occasionally but the doe wants out.
No roe rings and no fresh fraying.
however the bucks are chasing each other.
I have norweigens here now and we saw nothing but single does this morning.
Out tonight but its raining gently here now.
Hopefully something will start while they are here.
It usually peaks here between the 5th-10th.
Non starter this year.

Well they should be full on now.
Will have to have a quiet word with them, time they looked at their calanders.
No heavy rain here just the thunder, hopefully they will be in love tonight.

same story here in northumberland, been out 6 times over the last seven days, no sign of rut activity, despite favourable weather, back out tonight, wonder if the full moon is having an affect, maybe rutting during the night/moonlight

I had that conversation this morn with 1 of the other lads. Rutting under the moon was pointed out to me a few years ago. There wasnt much activity that year during daylight.

watched a buck giving serious oral to a wantan hussy doe last week getting the cows in, she was up for it as well......

Full on in Perthshire. Last weekend watched a buck mount a doe and found roe rings in another area. In total 3 bucks chasing does were seen that morning.

You might find that it is a combination of the weather and possibly more importantly the full moon tends to make it quiet mornings and evenings. I think they're at it at night. Get out with the lamp or NV and see.

Seen a buck last night in the lamp and looked like he enjoying himself seen same buck this morning laid in the bracken smoking a cigar ! Guess its prober underway;)
