Sat already for 1 1/2 hours trying to get in just not moving.

Newark had best access, obviously golf balls were a problem.

Wont be coming again, only the lads wanting to carry on or I would be on way home.

Organisers are a bunch of idiots

Bloody right they Im stuck ad well, the only time we move is when someone does a u turn and goes home

Glad I decided to give it a miss this year!

Good luck with the traffic and hope you find enough bargains to make it worthwhile

I'll text Mike and suggest that he nips out to Sainsbury for more beer!!

Cheers

Did you pre book and have the parking ticket or are you paying at the gate? Don't like the sound of a long queue to get in especially after a nearly 3 hour drive!

Decided on going stalking instead of the show even though it's only down the road sounds like I made the right decision ! Good luck with the traffic always gets me hot under the collar in standing traffic !

I just spoke to a mate who is there and says it is a complete disaster, roads in and out blocked and gates are being shut. Police are turning cars away now!

I wouldn't be surprised if the police make them cancel tomorrow if it is as bad as he says.

Fortunately got there very early when they were parking us just off the concrete roads not too far from the buildings. At 11 it was like sardines in the halls and difficult to move in some areas
On the way out they were trying to park the traffic in the fields which were sodden and difficult to even stand on so that should be fun when everyone leaves and for the punters planning on going tomorrow especially with the predicted weather
Trying to get out was difficult with most of the gates shut so ended up going out through the in entrance.Serious lack of traffic supervision needs looking at.Heavy queuing traffic on the surrounding roads reminded me of the bad old days of the Romsey CLA and needs addressing if its there next year
Its a shame because once inside its warm and dry with a fantastic turn out from the trade

Must be a massive show, getting parking at the little IWA in Nurnburg is done in 5 minutes.
Glad I didn't go. Even getting to the UK is way more expensive than going to Germany from Ireland. pity.

Madness thinking you can use sodden fields in February as a car park

The Birmingham NEC would be the perfect venue if finances weren't too prohibitive.Better infrastructure and hard standing car parks so the punters can actually get in

Hi all I have been to the shooting show this morning, I arrived at 08.00 and the staff were overwhelmed then, I then found the show to be a big disappointment and a let down and left at 10.00, it was bedlam getting out of the show ground, as i drove away the roads heading towards the show were gridlocked for miles, to anybody who is planning on going to the show I would not waste your time.

Just had the NEC conversation with Tony from Emmett & Stone who was planning on heading up tomorrow... If it really is carnage, then I can't see anyone rocking up tomorrow, and this could be disastrous for the show's longevity!

Advertising was just too good this year, and they are victims of their own success... Maybe only advanced ticket sales in future to limit the number of attendees?

Sounds like a clusterf*ck of grand proportions. Good luck to all in the traffic, in the fields and in the halls. Just need 6" of snow now!!

May your God go with you

Cheers

Just got back from the show. Arrived at 0820 and queued for 15 mins. Parking was not organised in any way. £17.50 entrance is taking the ****, however my choice to pay it. Way too busy, the corridors connecting the halls were in some cases too narrow. Good number of exhibitors. But way too busy, not enough room to browse comfortably. Worth going... no.

There is clearly a big demand for a covered pre Country Fair season shooting show. Why not spread it over four days, maybe have one day as trade only. Would be a whole lot easier if it were at the NEC.

Imagine many cars will now be stuck in the mud.

Regards

Ed
