8x57JS or 7x64 ? which is best ?

Muir & AB, you have got to get yourself a 9.3x62! Known in some parts of Africa as "The Cat Killer" That'll deal with your mountain lion issues...

But.... I have 400 pcs of virgin 8x57 brass to reform into 9.3.57! And 400, 289 grain RNSP bullets. And a really sweet rifle! No. I'll keep it as it is.....

Unless you want to trade it even across for that rusty, nasty old 9.3x62 you just got.:-D~Muir

That's a kind offer Muir but I'd hate to take advantage of you like that.

(And I refer you Mr Heston's quote...)

Yeah. I figured as much. I kind of feel that way about my shiny clean Model 29 S&W, ya know?? And my 2nd Model Hand Ejector .44 Special.:-D~Muir

I saw a M-27, eight and three-eights inch blue at a gun show last week for $1400. It was no better than mine and not near the gun that the M-27 I gave to my little girl is. Amazing how prices on old wheelers are climbing. A friend of mine has a M19, six inch still in the box. It has been shot very little. I think he bought it in 1980...~Muir

Smith and Wesson, Sarah.webp

My little girls garter gun...

I could find one here but I doubt I'd have much luck getting it out of the country these days. Yes, that is one nice M27. Accurate as can be. I'd like to be at the local range in her home town when she shows up with that gun. She's 5'1 and for certain, some yay-hoo will try to give her shooting advice right up until she fired off the first cylinder full. Then they will just back away. The kids' a mean shot. Almost as good as her brother.~Muir

Be worth it to see the looks on their faces though!

I have already had my mucky mitts on this heap of rust so I get first dibs on it! Soon as I can arrange a decent accident for the scrumster.

David.
