moderator question

Remmy700 had a t8 off a tikka t3 .243 12 shots fired for £80 if you don't get an answer mate

I've been offered a .30 T8 for £80 would it be stable on a .243

That will depend on how you intend to stick it on or balance it.

I take it you mean will it be suitable? Provided it is of the right thread and thread type then yes you can use it. You should be aware that the T8 is prone to rust and it could possibly be at the end of its serviceable life and also that being slightly over the optimum size it will not be quite as effective as one made for a .243
As a note Jackson rifles will actually give you an allowance on an old T8 if you trade it in.

haha yeh suitable god knows why i typed stable.

would it be a big difference in noise reduction to get a .243 mod or is it only slight. jakson rifles would part ex it you mean

I have one of each.... .25 and .30 cal specific t8 mods. There is no discernible difference in noise reduction on my t3 .243.

one more question, if my ticket says .243 rifle + sound mod does that mean i can only buy a .243 mod or can i buy any caliber mod

If your ticket says that then thats what you can buy. If the .30 cal mod is on the sellers ticket as .30 cal then thats all they can sell it as. Its a technicality which is stupid but both you and the seller could be committing an offence selling and buying under those circumstances.

what is a .243 moderator if not one that can accommodate a .243 bullet?

a .30cal moderator is the MAX size not the ONLY size

well my ticket just says .243 rifle + mod it dosnt state caliber of mod but i will take it as .243 mod i think

cheers all for advice

Why not just drop your firearms department an email with your question and get their view on it. It will only take a few minutes to do so and you will have a written reply to file.

i think they will assume it will be a mod for your .243.
i have mods for 4 different cals, and 3 are worded like yours and states the cal.
are you looking for any make of mod,

If you have both .308 and .243 rifles and your ticket only says .308 moderator, if you put it on your .243 you ARE definitely breaking the law
