You are very welcome Andy, you know that. Let me know if you can make it over one evening. The mobile dosnt work in the glen so you will need to let me know before I leave for the highlands.

As for Tommy 270 going up heartbreak well I will make sure the oxygen tank is full before you leave :D
 
hey malcolm pleased you have broken the silence as i was getting nervous,is the oxygen for the ride up the hill in the chopper?very wise precaution thats the only way i would ever get up there mate!!!
 
Senior guide tika.308 will be taking the Heartbreak Ridge detail this year... I distinctly remember he said he wanted a change from the regen area last year and he'll have two weeks of Disney World pankcakes and maple syrup to burn off this year :lol:

I know where you will be stalking and the bugger you will be stalking with, Glen will look after you. You had better be fit because after a day on the ground you are going on the prospect of an 80 mile round trip in the evening could come second to a dram or two :-D:-D

I thought my ears were burning !!!!! Not many weeks now guys. Alex you struggling with dementia it was you who said your guiding on heart break ridge, i got senior guide status from other areas ! So i do the forest and regem only :cool: sometimes in the outback !! Look forward to seeing everyone.

Andy it will take you a while to take off all those price tags on all the new gear you have bought from Bass Pro. Glad to hear you have got your own stalking now.
 
I took the price tags off most things before i packed ;) Cheers i knew i would drop lucky with some ground one day, im looking forward to getting to know the place.

No worries Andy, you deserve it after the crap you and I have had to deal with in the distant past. Not long now mate and you will be lying in bed listening to the Sika stags whistling in the forest at night adjacent to the cottage, and the Reds early in the morning as they climb heartbreak ridge.

Real stalking...............and with good mates as well :D

Presumably they don't need a bit of frost around the undercarriage to get them in the mood like those Sutherland stags ;)
 
Just as a heads up to all those coming up for the SD week.

1. Jim (Daft Dog) has asked for all those coming up on the week to contact him via PM regarding the purchase of the food for the week in the lodge.

2. I have also arranged for this year for all those attending to have a day on JAYB's ground. Two each day will be allowed to stalk the area. Thanks to John for this offer, payment is included in your week.

3. There will be the usual sighting in an briefing before we start stalking on the Monday morning. JAYB will be present to over see the sighting in at the lodge where you are all staying. Other guides will be present to help out during the week and will also be stalking themselves. Alex (csl) Andy (Tikka308) and Mark who will be up for the duration of my stay. Along with two other stalkers Darren and Tom and not forgetting Robin :D
I will have my quad bike for extraction and I think Alex is also bringing his up as well.

As per Malc's post. Last year, and in previous years I think, one person has done a group shop for food for the week. Works out quite cheap and good to get everyone round the table to chat about the days stalking.

Last year I think it worked out st about £40 - £50 per person which included a full English, snacks for lunch, and a large evening meal, all tea coffee etc. We left booze out of the shop as everyone had their own preferences.

If those attending are keen, i'm willing to do a large shop for everyone (or just those who want in). Please can you PM me confirming you want to chip in, and let me know any particular dislikes and your mail email address (so I can send out a proposed menu beforehand).
