Why put decent optics on something best suited to nocking in fence posts?

If it's for stalking as you say, then the Z6i 5-30x50 would be my choice. I think the optics are the best out there but you need to be careful on the elevation adjustment if you're looking at long range work.

+1 people with money who buy Remington must have no taste or class. I've got no money and i would still not buy a Remmy. I do have Zeiss, S&B and Kahles scopes though.

of the many hundreds of deer I have killed I didn't use taste or class once as I find it doesn't kill well ?

Well I've been know to kill a deer or two and I've alway done it with taste and class. Some of us have it and some not.

Am not sure why remmys are slandered as they are, its a bloody strong action and customising a remmy is endless , they sit in all the best stocks and get to wear all the best glass, cant be a competition they haven't won, wish I got a remmy and stuck with it years ago

Remmy! Many competitions are won by it, many soldiers/snipers trust it. I've seen a few nice remington actioned rifles in PSE stocks. Light, reliable,accuarte,........ They might not be the most modern design, but they work. No animal ever asks out of wich rifle the bullet comes.

someone said...if its to be used for stalking ....Sounds to me like it isn't!!! so... if money was no object then id forget buying a scope an f@@k off to a country where ethical shooting doesn't exist and you can take headshots on animals out to whatever distance takes your fancy!! and you might even be able to shoot at night with a lamp too!!
to suggest even shooting roe out to 300 yards let alone headshooting suggests you have little regard for your quarry! and to those guys who replied to your post... shame on you!!!!!

Forget the distance subject it always comes up and there is no end to it! It's a pointless argument. Everyone stick to your own ability be it 50 or 500yds.

The op having been a shooting instructor for twenty years is no doubt very capable... as am I and no doubt many others on here who have been rifle shooting for twenty plus years... But as we all know headshooting is a contentious subject in itself, and to admit to wanting to attempt it at the distance quoted is just asking for trouble.
Besides.... he'll need a nightforce scope and a highly tuned Remington of a larger than normal stalking calibre to be able to do it properly!
