Covering the holes where the iron sights came off....

A visit to a gunsmith,& a rummage around in the "spares" dept would likely come up with blanking screws, what happened to the original fixing screws?

No idea as they were removed two owners ago. Would love to find the original sights.

It's hard to imagine why as I couldn't wait to remove all this useless ironmongery from mine. Tikka imposes these compulsorily on their Lefthand models, as if it assumes that lefthanders are handicapped and haven't noticed modern 'scopes have appeared since WWII. I passed 3-4 sets of these on to a frequent (and much maligned) SD poster who's blessed with engineering skills.

Having removed the iron sights I now have a M65 LH in a similar condition to your own. It's old-style blued in gloss form, so you might want to reconsider whether inserting 4 matte-finish plug screws in such a 'pretty' barrel will improve or detract from the look. The holes are countersunk and shallow, so while noticable they are relatively discreet.

If you still think it's worthwhile I can sort out the exact details of the diameter/pitch/depth of 'Pluggskruv' you need, and find the right Tikka part-code to expedite things. In return maybe you can order an extra set for me while I ponder whether to fit them or not ...... :tiphat:
