  1. Gunsmith in East Sussex or Kent area

Rakers Gun Shop will do it for about £75 per gun - they own the precision engineers next to their shop, and have 4 on site gun smiths.
  2. Need to replace a lost knife: any experience of Puma?

Emberleaf "Cael AR" knife - designed by me with Taffs advice purely for deer stalking. You check a £300+ knife is there so you won't lose it! It will also never rust or break, and will hold a razor edge for dozens of grallochs.
  3. Shooting in natural decline?

Sadly it's become very commercial and dominated by knobs. I was lucky enough to have some decent blokes take me out stalking, teach me how to reload, and pss on valuable experience - all for no other reason than propagation of the sport and general human decency. We should all be offering to...
  4. Leaving the country

country on Sunday for NZ, before leaving, just a few questions 1. A good concrete mix for my dog run Ask Lewis 2. Is a cliff face a safe backstop of course, as is another deer ;) 3. What is the best calibre for everything I may come across .22LR - as you well know 4. Is bow hunting humane As...
  5. What make is this scope?

Very good scope, lifetime warranty that they still honour even though they are no longer in production (you get a voucher)
  6. Shooting goggles?!

Thank you everyone for your replies, some great bits of knowledge there re contacts for eyes with stigmatism, and some glasses options. I'll have a go at finding the contacts as like the idea of the freedom, but otherwise the glasses you guys suggested look excellent
  7. Shooting goggles?!

Git! :) it was an easy mistake to make (for a blind man!)
  8. Shooting goggles?!

Well sadly I've joined the visually impaired as eyes have gone from 20/20 to she-hite! ive got glasses, and though can shoot without them I definitely see more deer with them on... When they aren't fogging up, falling off, or generally p'ing me off! My eyes are the wrong shape for contacts...
  9. What and how many knifes when in the field!

Looks very similar to a knife I designed a couple of years ago: My new custom Knife
  10. What and how many knifes when in the field!

looks horrible - what you need is a nice cheap 440c blade, that's nice and wide as big knives work better, and a plastic sheath
  11. What and how many knifes when in the field!

I only carry my custom knife - designed by me with the advice of Taff, made by Emberleaf Knives and now in mass production: Not so new Knife - Follow up - good steel so stays sharp even after cutting through bone - narrow yet strong blade for anal cavity and delicate work, also perfect for...
  12. One for BASC - Sending firearms

Haven't got my license on me so forgive lack of specific wording, but noticed something the other day on my new style firearms & shotgun cert following a renewal (not sure if the same wording was on the old one). Section 3/4 of the new shotgun/firearms licence says the cert must be completed by...
  13. Deer caliber rifle with the least kick?

+1 you may also find this helpful - http://www.chuckhawks.com/recoil_table.htm Prob .243 with an MAE T12 mod fits the bill, 100g rounds... good luck with it
  14. New high seat design in a fallow hotspot

wasnt directed at your post fella, agree not ideal but looked like pine to me so not worth much anyway
  15. New high seat design in a fallow hotspot

I know a forester who used to bolt owl boxes in using coach bolts. He now uses a chain fed through hose pipe as the screws/bolts present a serious risk to chainsaw use. He's fixed his own high seats using heavy chain through bike tyre inner tube to prevent the tree from growing around the chain...
