I've got a xbolt2 in 270 and am off to Scotland for the red stags. I intend to use none toxic and have got sako 120g, is that enough or should I have a bit more weight

What people forget is the skin/heart and lungs are very soft on all deer so just shoot it there with what you have, a spiker around 100kg I shot last week with a 95gn (.243) round went 20 yds (hole in both lungs).

Thank-you everyone, it might seem a daft question but no one I know has used copper ammo and they usually use a heavier lead version, and if I'm correct you go a bit lighter on copper but didn't want to go to light. Thanks again
Copper bullets are a lot tougher than a traditional lead bullet. They stay in one piece and usually punch right through a deer. A 130gn copper will be the same sort of length as a 140 or 150 gn lead bullet.
Whilst not quite the same I use a 120g 7mm bullet @ muzzle velocity of 3200fps. Works very well on the hill. It sounds like you will be fine. Keep your shots within 250m and place them well and you shouldn’t have any dramas. Is this your first time on the hill?
Yes, been in training and even climbed helm cragg in the lakes on Monday to see how I'd fair. Did pretty well even if I do say so myself, the missus, she was another story. Thought I might have to get her helicoptered out.
I use the 110gr TTSX in my .270 for fallow at range. I’ll be taking it up on Sunday for this year’s week on reds in Scotland. I’ll be taking a .308 too using 130gr TTSX, a round which has served me very well during the 13 weeks I managed over the years on Arran
