.22lr / .308 cleaning rod

Hello,

This is probably a stupid question, but can you get a cleaning rod that that will work for both a .22lr and a .308 with relevant sized jags / brushes?

Yes it’s possible, not my choice, but my 22 rod will take 308 jags and brushes

You can, but I wouldn’t. False economy. I use three pro-shot rods, .17, .22-.270 and a 7mm+ the thin rods are great for their intended purpose but too flexible for the larger calibre

Too flexible,

You want a rod that will fill most of the bore so you can push a tight patch through.

I personally rate the pro shot rods, reasonably priced, and can use the proof positive tooling on them to prove you have no copper left in the barrel.

Your clean a .308, but you wouldn’t clean a .22lr, so the answer is simple

a well fitting rod will protect your bore far better . Its a silly idea to use one thinner rod

as above said get a specific calibre rod for your 308

This is the first time I have seen members of the shooting community all agree on a point about rifle cleaning!
