Being a bit more gentle Angus with foxes 6 mm br but the .308 has its usesIf you are using a 300Winmag as per your handle I’m surprised there’s anything left to photograph !
110 vmax one of the best foxing bullets ever made imo but I do find them a little messyI've used a 308 and 125gn TNT and vmax 110gn on fox's for years. Doesn't really make that much mess.
You should rub it on your coat. It'll buy you crucial time in some instances.110 vmax one of the best foxing bullets ever made imo but I do find them a little messywhen you pick up the fox to hang on a gate or fence 3 hours later you rub your face you know what the smell is

The running gear gives a hint to it's size.Back out to the new permission last night to try and get a better idea of the ground in the dark
Moved around a couple of spots and spotted a fox in the wood..got set up just as it moved into cover but could see enough of the side of its neck for an 80 yard shot.
Nice size dog and no 16 View attachment 469495

Huh, the deer drive cars around by you?I wish but alas still a good 30 minute drive for them to get there.
The ground is absolutely stunning ...mix of woodland and small fields ..loads of cover ...keeps me fit as you cant just stand and watch much as there is so much dead ground.
? Muntjac got to Ireland by car so presumed that's how they got about ...Huh, the deer drive cars around by you?

Just as I say I am slowing up
Yup, I always like to pick em up if poss.Had a runner yesterday morning - annoyed with myself. Solid thwack with a 6.5-284 at about 100yds, dropped then flipped and got up and ran into some horrible thick gorse. Big splodge of blood and bone fragments at shot site so I definitely hit it hard but not a great blood trail after that. Hate losing them even though it's almost certainly dead within 50yds somewhere
