I buy a big bag of Dewalt ones from Screwfix.Hi, recently have adapted my 6.5 creedmoor moderator with a muzzle break and have been advised to wear ear protection when shooting, any suggestions on the ear plugs/protection whilst in the field?
Wow these look very very high spec!Any of the Peltor products work well, however for stalking I have been using the tactical TEP100 which not only cuts out the gun report but attenuates any surrounding sounds ie bird song. deer on the move, my hearing isn't the best as I came to hearing protection far to late but with these TEP100 I can hear things I would otherwise miss.
As I don't stalk now I could be persuaded to part with mine, boxed with new different sizes ear tips.

I honestly have no idea why you would need to reduce recoil on a 6.5CM for stalking. How many shots are you expecting to take when out?? It is far from a thumpy calibre to start with and a moderator that needs ear protection is the stupidest idea I've ever come across.my apologies, I have a dpt moderator with an extra baffle and muzzle break to reduce recoil.
Because their ears are damaged? There are some people who won't listen![]()
Good if you need the additional sounds amplified, although the attenuation is still in line with foam plugs so protection level is similar to cheaper foam ones.Any of the Peltor products work well, however for stalking I have been using the tactical TEP100 which not only cuts out the gun report but attenuates any surrounding sounds ie bird song. deer on the move, my hearing isn't the best as I came to hearing protection far to late but with these TEP100 I can hear things I would otherwise miss.

Its a DPT moderator with their optional break attached.Sorry what exactly is a "moderator with a muzzle break"? Moderators make things quieter and muzzle breaks make them louder again so surely having both would be counter-productive.
Both reduce recoil, so if you have the skills, surely you would just make a larger/heavier moderator. Or buy one.
While i agree with you on the muzzle break side of things, I understand fully why hes looking for ear protection.I honestly have no idea why you would need to reduce recoil on a 6.5CM for stalking. Personally, I can't imagine wearing hearing protection when stalking (and missing out on all the wonderful sounds of the countryside) or having to faff with fitting ear plugs when you got on a deer. Ditch the muzzle break baffle and carry on...
