Did I mention radicalisation.....I think my daughter is at greater risk of being radicalised on this site than she is of anything she might encounter in our diverse multicultural society.

The Crime and Policing Act 2026 (Commencement No.1 and Saving Provision) Regulations 2026
ETA: Section (z8)
Just done mine be in 5yrs .been better to just remove them all together and not still label them .Simple answer is no - in the HO Guidance I’m sure it says that moderators are not counted as firearms for the purposes of security so I’d say that they’ll simply be removed at the next opportunity, ie at renewal or next variation. Leaving just the real firearms on the FAC.
No, you will still need to show “need” in the same way as powders and primers etcI'll believe it when I see it .
So will I be able to mail order a .308 moderator?
I doubt it .
Where does it say that? No, you will still need to show “need” in the same way as powders and primers etc
@maxwell ……… Postal Order.
When I started basic training in Nov 1971, my Mum sent me a 5£ postal order every fortnight for 6 weeks until I got man’s pay (17 1/2 years old)![]()
Fake.Nope.
We all go home at about 3......
My guess is that, if kept outside of the cabinet then any member of the household could be "in possession" without a cert... So keep it locked upSo I'm guessing no Comms from any police or shooting orgs yet? Do we still have to keep them locked in the cabinet? Can they be posted? Etc
That makes sense, but would be good to get an official comms from our licencing authorities and/or BASCMy guess is that, if kept outside of the cabinet then any member of the household could be "in possession" without a cert... So keep it locked up
What’s the odds if you keep it unlocked you’ll forget it ? Ik I’ve forgot my shotgun ammo onceSo I'm guessing no Comms from any police or shooting orgs yet? Do we still have to keep them locked in the cabinet? Can they be posted? Etc
Arguably, you never had to unless they were attached to a rifle.Do we still have to keep them locked in the cabinet?
Just spoke to Essex FET and was told to carry on as normal till I receive official notificationSo I'm guessing no Comms from any police or shooting orgs yet? Do we still have to keep them locked in the cabinet? Can they be posted? Etc
I agree, I keep mine in the safe, however on my last renewal the visiting FEO said it wasn’t necessaryArguably, you never had to unless they were attached to a rifle.
Offer it up for sale here, it may sellCan't wait to lob this anchor of a 223 mod that came with the rifle. I think it's made out of cast iron, by a blacksmith in between shoeing horses.
It's a joke that I've had to keep it this whole time simply because the procedure is too much of a faff.
I wish we could in cambs but they say they have to use their own private phones so unwilling to give out the number understandablyI think a call to my FEO tomorrow for clarification will be needed
Does 'relevant accessory' here not mean a moderator which is actually 'an accessory to' a S1 firearm - i.e. actually attached to a S1 firearm? You can treat them as you want but from tomorrow, they aren't "on ticket". They are however still a licensed part
“2A
Possession of a sound moderator or flash suppressor
(1)
Subject to any exemption under this Act, it is an offence for a person to have in their possession a relevant accessory unless the person holds a firearm certificate or a shot gun certificate.
A none-firearms, as far as I can tell, is still counted as a firearm when it is attached to a S1 firearm. That seems not to have changed. So a none firearm is still a firearm what's the point for the change![]()
