Hi Adam, i cant tell you what the BV means, though I will say that i sterted with the BV minox and for the money they are good, however the HG ( High grade)range use Schott glass and as you will know this is top end german quality...The Binos we used on your outing were HG Minox 8.5 x 43 which I have just sold and moved on to HG APO 8.5 x 43...If I had known you were looking for a pair you could have had mine http://www.thestalkingdirectory.co....spherical-lens-Binoculars?p=348686#post348686
Keep an eye out and dont rush In to buying anything below your expectations...A good pair at the right price will turn up...ATB...Mark
The big saving is for the rifle in November (fingers crossed), then a scope some time in May next year
I'm sure I'm stating the obvious but don't neglect to look at a 2nd hand scope. I bought a 2nd hand S&B 8X56 for about £250 about a year before I actually had a rifle to put it on. It has stood me in good stead ever since and with the rising value of scopes I could probably sell it for at least what I paid for it. I'd love a variable scope etc. but in the end I've never actually NEEDED one and I've shot deer from 20 yards to about 230 yards so buying the best quality glass you can justify and ignoring the more fancy "feature set" has certainly worked for me.
