100 grain ELD-VT

Hi, has anyone tried the new Hornady 100 grain ELD-VT with good results? I’m looking at trying some in my 6.5 creedmoor manuals say 3200ish fps.
Currently run (tikka 24” CTR)120grain ELD M which are good just looking for something flatter for predator control. Thanks

I think your struggle to get 3200 fps out of your CM , at those speeds your be running 110% flat out

What powder are you using ?

Be interested know how you get on and wish you well with it

I loaded these in my 24inch tikka 6.5cm with staball match and imr 4064. Both good but the 4064 was better.both 3200fps+ without pressure. Accuracy was exceptional. Other powders maybe rs52/rl15 or vv n135/n140/n540? Not sure as I just used what I had. I wanted to test these as a culling bullet option. Will load these up again after the fallow season and do some testing

This is good to know , to be honest i thought it would struggle a bit so sometimes its good to be wrong .

So I’ve just ordered the factory rounds and I put down 2900fps as I’m running a 20” barrel and got these ballistics. It’s pretty impressive

6.5cm mate. Didn’t realise I was in moa and not inches I thought I’d found a magic bullet. I’ve update picture now which is now in inches

Bud yes there a good little bullet .
I have just worked up a load for my PRC doing 3550 fps , not had chance to use them on anything but steel at 500m and there very good .

I use 100gr Noslers in my 260s with IMR 4064. 260 and 6.5CM are similar enough to use the same powders just reduced a few grains. I’m at 3150 in a 22” Browning 6.5CM for 100gr Noslers with the last load I tried.

Hmm, not to argue, but heavy bullets and slow powder have long been proven to erode barrels much faster than light and fast. Rate of fire dependant of course.

To the OP, my 13 year old grandson has run about 300 of the 100 eld vt since Christmas.
Think I'm loading them with varget.
They work well to 800ish yards and ok to 1k.

Not likely, quick math puts you @306,000rpm @ 3400fps. Depending on how hard you wanna lean on it.

Wow, good on you. I have seen more eld's come apart out of 6.5 prc's than I can count.
Not arguing, but its a thing over here.
