21 Sharp anyone?

Well i dont see the point in that 21 sharps, they say its because of a comming lead ban.

Since the lead ban here, we dont have problems using 22LR Lead free.
The Norma ones a good, the CCI ones do not shoot well i all rifles, but my old Russian TOZ takes it all with good accurary.

It's to simplify manufacturing.
Personally I'd welcome a none heeled bullet in the old 22 case.
Every one can appreciate that. Should lead to better accuracy actually!
Sod the non lead thing though!

So, how much more wildlife is there in Denmark since the lead ban?
Has there been a reduction in people visiting the doctors?

The MAC2 in 177 was another attempt at this issue probably failing due to timing/ marketing. Perhaps it will be successful eventually or the 5mm Rem might be.

In addition to the heeled bullet rim fires use a lot of primer compared with C/F cartridges and that doesn't help uniform ballistics.

As with all innovative some win, if they called it Creedmore it be another marmite cartridge.

As far i know: not more wildlife, Its common know the problem is to many humans cause reduction in wildlife.
No reduction in doctor visits, on the opposite its becomming more and more popular to get a diagnose for some exiting syndrome.

The lead ban was introduced by our goverment, because some politicians thought they could get some votes on that matter.
Same reason they make a lot of other stupid laws, we who live in it can do nothing more than vote different, and make the best out of it.

I saw a chart today from Winchester advertising the 21 Sharp copper load getting 1.5 MOA at 50 yards; I checked my notes and that's what I've gotten with the Norma EcoSpeed .22 LR.

I get a lot better than that with .22 match ammo.
Bet that grouping will open up a bit more as the range increases too.

Winchester® Ammunition Introduces NEW 21 Sharp™ Rimfire Cartridge | Winchester Ammunition I guess they say sub-1.5 MOA, but still not particularly impressive compared to existing copper options (which are themselves unimpressive compared to lead). It will be interesting to see what the actual accuracy for the average fellow ends up being, since I'm sure they stack the deck in their favor. I shoot 5 shot groups; I bet they're doing 3-5. I'd be stunned if they were doing 10.

There all supersonic rounds. I'd rather stick with my 17HMR. Even in my hands it beats 1.5MOA at 50 and 100 yards with Non lead.

1.5moa at 50 yards ?! Something has to be wrong here. Who in their right mind would buy that?!

Vertsinky not a viable alternative to lead 22lr.

Bullet groups seldom decrease with range.
Nor do they decrease in size the more rounds you put in the group.
Ken.

I wonder if the law will be amended to allow the re-barrelling of 22 rimfire semi auto for the .21 non-lead
If it's fractionally over 21 then rounded up instead of down then could be considered still a 22. The smart move would have been to call it 22RD (reduced diameter)

So far the cartridge has been tested and shown to be inconsistent in accuracy and penetration is extraordinary, well beyond the already surprising penetration of a .22 LR.
Also due to the light weight it does not retain it's energy downrange.
I don't think I will be using one.

Penetration is better than 22lr?
