The 50gr TSX is longer than the 50gr TTSX with tip removed. I tried 45gr TSX years ago in my 222 and couldn't get them to work so didn't bother trying 50gr TSX.Thanks. They have a blunt poly tip to them. Was hoping this might tip the balance. They don't look any different to the 55g vmax I normally use. Would the tsx work instead of pulling the tips on the ttsx?
Do you use these in a 22250? Ta
What twist has your weapon? My local gunsmith had bought a load of Remington 55gr PSP but the guy he had ordered them for sadly passed away. To get rid of them he offered them to me for £10 a box, so my son and I both took as many as we could legally hold.
They won't group for s**t, they strike about 3" low at 140yds and the stench of sulphur is awful. I had intended to use them on the crows but I'm not sure I'll hit a crow sized thingy with them.
I am now thinking about pulling the bullets out with pliers and at least recovering the brass, primers and powder.

Was looking at loading these for my 22-250 R8 barrel. Did you manage to get them shooting?I've just loaded some hornady ecx 50grain. I've yet to test them, got in lamb ewes where I do my testing. I'm hoping I can get them to group. A mate said they perform well in his larger calibers.
Also my go to ammunition, tremendousCould do far worse than try Sako 55gr Gamehead
They weren't bad but just not good enough for me. Tried 6 or 8 loads and the best was about 1.25 inch at 100yrds. Vmax is about .5 inch. Mines a 1 in 14 twist. They did stabilise ok but just not accurate enough. I'm trying out some Barnes ttsx next. I've been advised to pull the plastic tips to make them more likely to stabilise. Was looking at loading these for my 22-250 R8 barrel. Did you manage to get them shooting?

Don't suppose your mate is using non lead and it's a 1 in 14 twist by anychance? Contemplating getting one for roe but trying to find anyone that's used a 1 in 14 twist barrel to reassure me the copper will stabilise with 50/55gr rounds
I ended up trying sako .222 ttsx with tips removed and they shoot a dream out of my 1 in 14!As Rory mentioned above, the Barnes TTSX 50g with the tips pulled (very easy to do) stabilises well in a 1/14 twist. I send them at 3600 fps through my R8 and when developing the load, I got .3". Just for kicks, I tried them with the tips in, half-inch at 100y. I chose to use the load with the tips removed as I'm not sure how the other load will behave at a distance. These expand really well, I recovered one from a roe doe I'd shot face on at over 200y. The bullet exited and I found it in the front elbow when I skinned it. Perfect mushroom and the retained weight was 49.7 grains. Maybe the weight of the removed tip. They have the BC of a house brick with the tip removed and the drop has to be compensated for.
All that said, I'm still using 55g Sierra GKs and 52g Amax with excellent results. Long live the lead!
