Guys
Anyone using the Norma non tox hollow point or ballistic tip rounds

just picked up 250 of each to get a prospective on accuracy and carcase damage etc

lighter round, hike on velocity on both

Hi Muir
norma eco speed .22 LR
Hopefully after the weekend, gotta say the FPS is more like a stingers speed at 1706 FPS carrying a 24 grn round in hollow point and the other in segmented, should be noisy and interesting if nothing else
going to zero a 22 in with a day scope on targets then put the night vision back on for some rabbiting and see what’s occurring over a couple of nights out

Sure many of us will be interested in how you get along and what rifle/model/barrel length/ barrel type & twist?

Rifle is the Anschutz .22 Thumbhole with the short barrel & moderator

its shooting a 10 shot ragged hole at 50 yds off a bench using CCI segmented, with eley subs its even better than the 1/2 inch
rifle is all set, I’ve even cleaned it and shot it back in

I’m really hoping one of the rounds will come right, we will see 🤞

Im really interested in this, not least because I have a 1417 anschutz myself. Hopefully your results will be positive. Thanks in advance 😀👍

Am I correct in thinking both of these are not subsonic?

If so at least a cheaper option than non lead HMR.
It’s states 1706 FPS on the box

Sounds more like manufactures cashing in on a conscious 😐
If there was a green price matching viable alternative I’m pretty sure most would use, in the meantime I’ll think I’ll stick to quiet 40grn hollows where location dictates.

Still interested to know how your green 22 rounds go though, as said a possible alternative to the 17………………don’t I don’t think I’ll place an order just yet🤔

Going to give these two rounds a good run out over the weekend, if they don’t come up to spec, could be some free Ammo going.
awaiting confirmation if I can use them on the club internal range as well as for Rabbiting etc

will know by Monday

Prices of lead free ammo will go down as volumes increase and a bit of competition comes into the market - that’s how markets should work.

But there are petrol stations in remote parts of Scotland that charge ridiculous prices for fuel citing lack of demand, cost of transport etc and that most customers only spend £10 on fuel at a time - ie just enough to get them to a fuel stop where they pay “normal” prices. Can’t possibly think why this analogy popped into my head.

Some prices have rocketed for ammunition

i phoned up for a blaser barrel which the shop has already in stock at £1,199 yep got it stock had it for a while you can have it for £1700 !!!!!! covid has increased the cost from the supplier. !!!!!

what is going on

nope this lad wont be buying none of this eco stuff its a load of bo**o"! bs
Don’t get a choice on some of the ground I shoot over, I’m very happy using CCI lead as I have done for years, every year I gets the email, asking for my improvements on using non toxic ammunition

You’re trying what’s available, can’t ask more than that really👍 If it’s crap, at least you’ve tried.

Whereas in reality prices will go up, everybody will avoid rocking the boat and we will be stuck with that price level from here on in. 'Cos that's how they normally work unless people stop buying

I couldn’t get them shooting in the 16in T1x, yet my grandfathers long barrel Brno was ragged groups with them Norma lead free Power.
