As times have moved on and lead free alternative are continuing to enter the market I was wondering what people now reccomended or using and what is stabilising in what twist rate.
Looking to start reloading non lead alternatives for a 243 1:10 twist.
Thanks
( I already reload for multiple other calibres including lead free in my 6.5mm)

As others have said a 75 or 80gn Fox, Peregrine, TTSX all work very well on pretty much any UK deer.

If you are shooting deer, other than Roe, in Scotland you will need a 100gn bullet.

Most 100gn long pointy bullets won’t stabilise in a 1 in 10” twist 243.

Peregrine do a 100gn VRG3 bullet. It’s a flat nose brush busting bullet, but it does shoot well and accurately in a 1 in 10” twist 243. And it hits hard. Because of its shape its BC is not too clever so its not a 300 yard plus bullet, but with 200yards it hits very hard.

If you don’t need to shoot a 100gn because of Scottish legislation, stick with an 80gn - will shooter flatter and have more energy.

Did you get the TLR to stabilise in a 1:10? Reccmendation on web site is for 1:8 twist rate. I use them in my 6.5 so would be an option if they stabilise in the .243.
Yes they sound i tried the starting load fifty thou off the lands as per base figures given and it was accurate straight out the box.

Any one tried the 75grain perigine vlr 4?
Thanks
Yes - shoot well in my old Heym SR20 with a 1 in 10 and a bit inch twist 243.

Terminal effect very good as well. Only used on Roe, would not hesitate to use on bigger deer in England.
