.25-06 bullet choice

Nowadays using Barnes VOR-TX 100gr, from roe to red including boar, 10 to 300m, great results so far. Before, Hornady Interlock 117gr (American Whitetail) also great resuts, targeted the same animals. Sub MOA groups with both. I agree with previous post, not good grouping with 100gr Remington CL

I used Federal 117gr factory that came with the rifle. After that I went to 100gr and 115gr Nosler ballistic tip handloads. I found the 100 explosive under 150m and the 115 lacked expansion at 300m plus on fallow. It's a big ask for a bullet to perform at different impact speeds but I went back to 117gr traditional soft points for better results. (Sierra and Hornady.)

I just bought a 25-06 intending to homeload. Bushwear in Perth were selling federal 117gr soft points at £25 a box which is about the price of brass so i bought 100 of them. They shoot really well though, so it might be a long time before I need to load anything.
