Air rifles have gone up a fair bit recently, I sold a HW97K a few years ago and have regretted it ever since, the pigeons and squirrels are having a field day ! Looking at what was top money then is getting me on the bottom scale of what about now,

I knew when I sold it I’d dropped a clanger, and you can’t beat any of the HW springers !!

Have a look at the Cometa range new mate. They get a good write up and come in .25…also have adjustable stocks etc. a lot of value for the money. Probably a 400 usc is most similar to the 80.

Ps. I sold my mk2 hw80 in .25 a couple of weeks ago. I was asking 400 and took 350

Yes PCP gone up too, I’ve always found the price of Air Rifles extortionate to be honest, back in the late 80’s as a lad and buying shot guns for a few hundred quid even springers were more expensive then.

The PCP rifles from that era are now becoming collectible ?

The price of everything’s gone up,

Bizarrely enough the price of scopes have come down, thanks to the Chinese,

Back to Air rifles, there’s a space for one in my extensive cabinet, for plinking in the garden,
In my own experience PCP rifles are just more troublesome, a springer you can just leave,
Pick up point out the bedroom window and it fires, no faffing with bottles, seals, hoses and connectors.

That’s just my experience l,

I own a couple of PCP and one springer. I do love PCP for their accuracy and ease of shooting. All springers and gas rams are hold sensitive to one extent or another. But I agree there's something about the purity and ease of using a springer. Hassle free for decades normally!

I agree, I did have a Titan Bearcat, a John Bowkett one, my god that’s nailed some bunny’s…
Only fired about 25 pellets on full power and tailed off then towards 30….
Anything after that was getting lodged in the barrel.

So 9 times out of 10 I was lugging a small divers bottle about with me, at 14 years old that was quite novel, and in the late 80’s it was pure wizardry, I was invited down to my Grandads allotments regularly to nail rats, rabbits and pigeon. Paid in Park Drives, 1/2 a pint of Stones in the local and on the odd occasion a jar of home made piccalilli and even home made picked beetroot. 😂
That rifle sat in a cupboard for 2 decades at least, and when it emerged it was still as new, it only held air for a day and I never spent the money resurrecting its past. Replaced by the trusty HW97K which weighed twice as much and not near as accurate.

I’m currently restoring the Logun S16 I bought off here a few weeks ago. I’ve managed to source all new seals, a new magazine x16 shot obviously and a new barrel !

Ah thanks man- was that private or trade ? There's a used trade one for a pretty shocking £500 on there. Seemed pretty optimistic pricing to me.
Had a look earlier there was 5 pal think trade .unfortunately nothings cheap at moment I have a hw90 in .25 not for sale though this was £550.00 ish special order took 12 weeks to arrive. Good luck with your quest billy

Argh too late ! Bummer

How did you find it mate ?
Yes mate it was lovely, I put a short stroked and glided piston in it and then added a TBT kit so it shot very nicely indeed.

I only got rid as I needed a multi shot pcp for ratting and NV, swapped it for a hw100 which is currently having work done, new cyclinder trigger and fettle etc etc.

I’ll be saving up and buying the cometa usc 400 in .25 with the adjustable stock at some point soon. Looks a lovely rifle.
